...on December Design Challenge #13

Whoops, updated with the company name, Cool Wool Suits.

...on Ben the Bodyguard and Interactive Design

Agreed. You shouldn’t do any type of just random interactivity just for the sake of it, that is what got Flash sites in so much trouble. However, I think in every context that is a certain level of interactivity that we are missing. Books for example will take on a whole new level of interactivity with the electronic medium (I hope).

Designers working on the more interactive projects will need to become more like movie directors instead of just designers. They need to know that at this point in the experience of their design the user should be feeling or thinking “this”. The first version of the Hard Boiled Webdesign site had some cool CSS3 Transitions and some might consider that interactivity, but it wasn’t. It was nothing more than a moving static page.

It’s very abstract and hard to nail down when we aren’t talking about specifics, but maybe that will be left for another post.

@danmorton: Whenever you want to step up to it. These are exercises to push our design skills and to have some fun. A new one will be presented every day in December and you can revisit these in April if you want.

...on Why co-work?

Entry I came across speaking about the first month of co-work. Right here is the link to the entry that I am speaking of.

...on Post Guidelines Draft

Excellent suggestions.

@mantautas: I see where you are getting at in that more information should be included about what constitutes a post. Of course if you explore around the site you can see how things are done, but it doesn’t hurt to give more feedback to a person in case they are still uncertain.

@brianpurkiss: This is just a draft. There will be a page dedicated to such things.

...on Dear Client, The One Thing I Need...

Interesting approach about trying to convince them they don’t need one. I assume it is a reverse psychological thing to get them to really think about the needs they are trying to address.

...on Do Not Let Ads Kill Your Site

And now I use BSA to manage my ads. The irony.

I should probably edit out the old ad information as well. Whoopsies.

...on Snaps, Dribbbles, and Codes Oh My!

I should also note that all of this is forward thinking. Priority #1 is getting this Alpha version out the door and ready for the world to enjoy.

...on What is design?

It’s definitely more than just adding noise.

...on Welcome to Drawar Dot4 Alpha

Good catch and I noticed that as well. That was more of a DB update issue than anything since I had to change some of the meta in the tables and it caused those dates to change for those discussions. If that makes any sense. From here on out all Fresh Discussions should be accurate.

Yeah fixed the errors when you have no friends. When submitting a comment you will get sent to the article, just need to get that part coded.
