I personally feel part of the middle section, I'm no hack but not a great designer either (yet). For a while now I've been trying to make the jump from IT to design and trying to obtain the "designer" label has me going in circles because I postpone doing serious/paid work because I don't consider myself a designer yet. I keep reading articles and doing research on what would be the best path for me to become a designer instead of just trying to be one. My insecurities are holding me back, not my skills or lack thereof.
I think I'll go design something now ...
