Business Cards, who do you use?

I'm prepping for a upcoming presentation, and am in need of some good quality business cards. While perhaps not of the utmost quality, Vistaprint and Uprinting both offer decent promo prices (i.e.-$3.99 for 250 "premium" with Vista); but I am open to other options. So, who do you use, how well do they perform, and do they have any current promotions?

I can't really recommend an online print shop, but I know how you can save a couple bucks on your business cards if you print locally.

I needed some cards on short notice for an student intern recruitment, so I had to stick to a local shop to meet my deadline. I also wanted a local shop because I wanted to see the quality in the cards and hold them. I saved $7 (like %80-off) on a small batch of cards by asking them not to cut out the printed cards from the sheets- meaning I would have to them out individually myself. I only needed a small amount of the cards I had ordered for the event, so I just cut out those cards only. :) It only took 20 minutes to cut out 50 cards, and I'm sure it would've taken me less time if I hadn't made my card design "unique" (see image below).

Here's how my business cards turned out, ignore the "student" part: http://twitpic.com/2bgepy

Thanks for the tip Elizabeth, those are absolutely awesome!

I would go that route, but I have found the local printers to actually be more expensive sadly, but I haven't checked with a few. Beyond that, you don't want to see me and a pair of scissors; if only I had one of the nice cutting boards, and if only I could remember what they're called.

Yea, the downside is that buying local is expensive. :/ I forgot to mention that I also knew the owner and was able to convince him to print under 250 cards for me. If you do happen to find a decently-priced print shop, take your uncut cards to a local Kinko's. :) They have cutting/rotary boards, x-acto knives, and rulers free for use.

I actually have had great success with UPrinting. I've used them quite a bit for clients that have asked me to make business cards for them. I've also used a local printer, but only because my sister works for them. Otherwise, it would have been too expensive to justify the fairly small amount of cards that I got. (500)

Either way, I think it depends more on the quality of card that you get, more than the price that you're going to pay.

A bit of advice if choosing UPrinting. You can have them send you a paper sample kit in the mail (Free of charge) that shows their different types of papers and such. Definitely worth it if you're going to be using them more than a few times or for different things. http://www.uprinting.com/samples.html

I've used http://www.clickbusinesscards.com/ heaps here in NZ but they also operate in USA, AU, and UK. They don't do anything fancy like rounded corners, letterpress, die cuts, or spot UV, but they are fast, relatively cheap, and have always done really well for me.

You can order samples from them to see the print quality and finishes. I LOVE the matt celloglaze finish and use it on all the cards I do there.

Well, if you're in a pinch, FedEx Kinkos can always get you some cards made pretty quickly. The thing with them is that they *usually* don't actually print large quantity orders there in their location. Hence the reason that they charge so much. But if you're only looking at getting 250, which is their minimum order, you'll be looking at a starting price of about $30.

Business cards play essential role for building business network. Business card should be creatively designed so that it reflects your business theme perfectly and impress clients at first look. I was searching the web to find out agencies which offer service of brochure printing online. I found one. The search also helped me to get your well-informative post. Thanks for sharing.
